A research team led by Prof. TONG Peng at the Institute of Solid State Physics, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science (HFIPS) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), discovered excellent BC cooling performance in n-alkanes with self-developed BC test platform, which provided a new perspective for developing the application-oriented green refrigeration technology.
This innovative technological path means that common materials in the market, such as house insulation, cooking oil, can actually work as good refrigerants under undemanding conditions. Meanwhile, they do not produce any environmentally or biologically harmful gases, which is beneficial to the environment.
